Mysterious White Disc in New Mexico Sparks UFO Theories

A white, circular object discovered via Google Earth in New Mexico’s remote Sierra Ladrones mountains.
The mysterious object, located approximately 34 miles northwest of the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, sits at an elevation of 7,400 feet and has baffled researchers with its striking, disc-like appearance partially veiled by desert scrub.
Eagle-eyed users first identified the anomaly at coordinates 34°24’21.6″N 107°05’44.5″W. Shared widely across social media platforms, images of the site reveal a stark white ring roughly 30 feet in diameter, contrasting sharply against the rugged terrain.
While some users proposed extraterrestrial origins—dubbing it a “crashed UFO” or “alien hatchway”—others turned to historical satellite imagery for clues.
Archived photos reveal intriguing details: In 1975, a dark, box-like structure occupied the site, while the current disc-shaped feature emerged by 2003. This timeline discredits theories of a recent “crash”.
Arid regions like Sierra Ladrones often use such tanks for wildlife or firefighting. The white coating might reflect sunlight to reduce evaporation.
Despite mounting curiosity, the site’s inaccessibility and lack of public records prolong the mystery. Google Earth imagery offers limited resolution, and federal land agencies have yet to comment.
