Ian Lawman Set To Star In ‘The Yorkshire Exorcist’
Ian, who claims to have been hearing voices from a young age, is a seasoned paranormal reality television star. He has participated in Really’s original series ‘Ghost Chasers’ as a lead investigator alongside Kay Nambiar and appeared in multiple other shows, such as ‘Celebrity Ghost Hunt’ and ‘I’m Famous and Frightened’. More recently, Ian starred in the last two seasons of ‘Help! My House Is Haunted’ and its celebrity spin-off, ‘Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted’.
Produced by Back2Back, the same team behind ‘Help!’, ‘The Yorkshire Exorcist’ will follow Ian as he conducts exorcisms to rid homes, objects, and individuals of malevolent entities. While specific details about the series remain under wraps, viewers can expect it to air around Halloween time this year.
Throughout his career, Ian has shifted his focus from gathering evidence to assisting those plagued by hauntings. He attributes this change to an organic evolution over time, driven by a desire to use his gift to help others. Ian’s expertise in the dark arts has proven invaluable in previous shows, such as his debut on ‘Help! My House Is Haunted’, where he guided the team in transforming a negative situation at Galston-on-Sea in Norfolk.
Although Ian is accustomed to working with a team, he considers exorcism a solo pursuit. He made this clear to the show’s producer, Ben Cole, when first approached about appearing on ‘Help! My House Is Haunted’. Ian emphasised that performing an exorcism requires total focus and no interference.
Despite his experience, Ian remains excited about capturing compelling evidence during investigations. However, he also cautions against mislabeling certain paranormal phenomena as demonic. He explains that many times, what people perceive as dark energies might simply be assertive personalities.
For those eagerly awaiting ‘The Yorkshire Exorcist’, all previous episodes of ‘Help! My House Is Haunted’ and its celebrity spin-off are available for streaming on Discovery+ now.
