“In my opinion, it could be a martin that flew just as you were shooting. They’re very fast,” Facebook user Andrea Sorrentino commented.
“It could be a pigeon swooping before landing, considering the proportions in comparison to the tiles. In any case, I would say that it is a bird. The bright spot can be the reflection of wet feathers. Clearly in motion, it’s all blurry and out of shape, but for me it’s the only plausible explanation,” fellow Facebook user Beatrice Bigu agreed. “Indeed, as Andrea Sorrentino says, it is most likely a martin, and the white is precisely the rump that can be seen while in flight.”
But Guida isn’t so sure.
“I hope that’s it!” she responded. “But in so many years, even if they were moving or out of focus, in broad daylight, I have never seen birds so deformed by speed. I am left with doubts.”
