Petty Cash and Hurt Egos: What YouTube Manipulators Hate the Most
The recent dust-up between James Williams aka Dark Waters and Josh Turner from Paranormal Roundtable is a prime example of what happens when manipulations encounter walls of resistance. It’s a play-by-play example of what happens when people who are accustomed to manipulating situations encounter an individual they cannot manipulate.
Dark Waters is a massive brand in the paranormal community with over 150,000 subscribers, a streaming radio station, books, comic books, and membership to the exclusive YouTube Creator Club.
Petty Cash and Hurt Egos: What YouTube Manipulators Hate the Most
This is a lesson worth exploring for YouTubers and the audiences who listen alike. For instance, in this case it is abundantly clear the splinter in the foot of Josh Turner from Paranormal Roundtable was a gentleman named Mike, host of a popular boots-on-the-ground Bigfoot and cryptid investigation channel. Although it is not abundantly clear what started the back-and-forth between the two of them, it is abundantly clear that Josh Turner was caught aback and taken into offence by a $20 superchat given to the channel Abnormal Investigation.
For a moment, forget about the obvious fact that anyone is free to give to whomever they choose on YouTube, regardless of the feelings and emotions of another person. Or that giving money does not explicitly mean that one is in full agreement with or supports any or all of the actions of a party.
Let’s just simply focus on the method of manipulation displayed and see what we can learn. The Cryptid field is a place where a litany of tactics are displayed. The foundation of them being the gaslighting of audiences.
Gaslighting is a tactic that causes a person to question their reality. This may involve a manipulator lying, denying things they’ve said, twisting facts, and using a person’s words against them. Over time, this creates uncertainty and doubt, and can cause a person to second-guess their experiences.
The primary role of gaslighting in the paranormal and cryptid community is to bring the audience into agreement with one side or the other, whether the allegations are true or not. The manipulator focuses on making sure that the audience hears them. This is done by taking the audience on a rapid emotional rollercoaster ride of highs and lows designed to get them emotionally invested in into shared offence. When this process is performed over and over, consistently, people find themselves completely consumed in problems and issues that are not their own. They act out in ways that normally they never would.
The real question is why?
- What makes a mother of three children take time out of her busy schedule and participate in online disputes?
- What makes a man who has to go to work at 4 am stay up all night arguing online?
- Or what makes a passive listener become an aggressive participant who engages in mass video flagging campaigns?
The answer is Relationship Magic ( Mind Control ) – something most people have no clue about. So let me take a moment to explain. It’s an incremental process of bringing people into full agreement with the spirit of an altar.
Now, according to God we are all living altars. David realized this in the Psalms when he said “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise” (Psalms 51:17). He is explaining that he will not offer the flesh of bull or oxen but himself. That theme is followed throughout the new testament of the bible Christians being living sacrifices to God.
Hence if we are living altars, they can be both good and evil based on the conditions of a person’s heart.
Jeremiah 17:9 ESV – “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”
Mark 7:21 ESV – “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery…”
Romans 1:21 ESV – “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Relationship magic is about affecting the condition of the heart by constantly shifting a person’s emotions and feelings into agreement with strife, confusion, lust, perversion or sin through repetitive actions, especially in large groups.
Most people miss these revelations completely. According to the book of Matthew 18:19-20 – “Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them” (Matthew 18:19-20)
The inverse is applicable as well when 2 or 3 are gathered in the name of another spirit other than God’s, that spirit is present as well.
To put it into the simplest terms, there is a spiritual effect on you as a listener and a creator when you are brought into strife, confusion, anger, deceit, envy, jealousy, perversion and all forms of wickedness. A reciprocal relationship is formed and most people are not aware. It is the spiritual effect that takes hold of people and makes them do things and behave in ways they should not and normally would not. Forget about the flying accusations , the fits of rage and anger displayed, the emotional tirades. Ask yourself this question: are you willing to be a party to this form of magic. That is the real question at hand, and now you are aware of what is truly going on, you have a choice.
