Homespun Haints – A podcast of real ghost stories
If you are looking for a new podcast to listen to then I would recommend checking out Homespun Haints.
Homespun Haints is a podcast that celebrates the oral tradition of storytelling as an art form – with ghosts.
Co-hosted by Becky Kilimnik and Diana Doty. In each episode they interview a different guest who has had a personal paranormal experience that they want to share with the world.
Composed as half storytelling and half interview, it gives a unique and entertaining way to keep you engrossed. The stories range from the terrifying to hilarious.
I have listened to a good few episodes, just in random order. My most recent listen, was episode 6 – Ghost hunting in the English Country side. James de Beresford tells his stories of visiting haunted hotel rooms in the UK and what he has documented during his visits. Its a great episode.
I’ve never really been a one for podcasts, very few grab my attention or make me want to keep on listening, maybe I’m just not choosing the best ones, but Homespun Haints is one of those few podcasts that really keeps me enthralled and makes me want to listen to another episode as soon as one has finish.
Becky and Diana are great hosts of a fantastic show. The banter they have with their guests, you will likely find yourself laughing along with them which helps take the edge off being creeped out from the spooky stories that the guests share.
The show is inspired by Becky’s background growing up in Appalachia, US, where ghosts stories are integral to the culture. In one episode Becky explains that the entire show was inspired by growing up in a region where storytelling and ghost story telling was an art form. Something that was celebrated and something you did at parties, performances and festivals.
Give them a listen, you wont be disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend listening before bedtime though as you know those stories are true!
Homespun Haints is available on all major platforms. Buzzsprout, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher and Spotify.
